Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme found in various tissues and is involved in the conversion of lactate to pyruvate and vice versa. LDH is commonly used to assess cell viability, disease progression etc. in clinical and research settings. AkrivisBio’s LDH Activity Assay is a simple, and sensitive assay to measure LDH activity in a wide variety of samples with a sensitivity to accurately quantify as little as 0.02 mU of LDH activity. In this assay, L-lactate is converted to pyruvate in the presence of LDH with the formation of NADH. NADH then reduces WST, a readily reducible nearly colorless tetrazolium to a highly colored formazan measured at OD 450 nm.
