AkrivisBio’s Quick Cell Proliferation Assay provides everything needed along with detailed instructions for a rapid, sensitive measure of cell proliferation or viability under stress. An increase in the number of viable cells results in an increase in the activity of mitochondrial dehydrogenases, which generate reducing equivalents. The dye produced by viable cells is measured colorimetrically using a plate reader at 440 nm. The assay can be used for the measurement of cell proliferation in response to growth factors, cytokines, mitogens or nutrients. It can also be used to analyze the effect cytotoxic compounds such as anticancer drugs and other toxic agents on cells in culture. The new method is extremely simple, requiring no washing, harvesting or solubilization steps, and is quicker and more sensitive than MTT, XTT, and MTS.
