DESCRIPTION

Fructose-6-phosphate is a broadly useful metabolic intermediate. It plays a role in glycolysis and energy production, gluconeogenesis, the pentose phosphate pathway, the hexosamine biosynthesis pathway, important for UDP-acetylglucosamine synthesis, key for protein glycosylation, glycogen synthesis, endoplasmic reticulum metabolism, where it is moved to the lumen and is converted to glucose-6-phosphate used to maintain the reductase activity of 11β- hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, and other aspects of metabolic regulation such as activation of glucokinase. AkrivisBio’s Fructose-6-Phosphate Assay is a simple, sensitive means of assessing F6P concentrations in a variety of sample types with a sensitivity of ~ 5 picomoles in the well.
