DESCRIPTION

Invertase, also known as β-fructofuranosidase is a key enzyme in carbohydrate metabolism with significant metabolic implications. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of sucrose into its constituent monosaccharides, glucose and fructose. The metabolic significance of invertase extends far beyond this simple conversion, playing roles in primary metabolism, plant development, and stress responses. Invertase is central to energy metabolism, particularly in plants. Invertase activity affects stress response, seed, fruit and flower development, root growth, specialized metabolism as with terpenoid indoles and energy homeostasis such as heat tolerance in rice plants. AkrivisBio’s Invertase Activity Assay is a simple, sensitive way to measure invertase activity in a variety of sample types.
